Hi all. Great job on the forum Hanno. I have a series of lines with z values which I want converted to polygons. I have used the 3D function make polygons from lines using the label as the z value. The polygonization routine works, but I can't seem to get the polygons to inherit the z value for making contour intervals. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Best Regards,

First make sure that the ID of the lines is set to the z value, then use "live layer actions - polygon manipulation - convert lines to polygons". In the dialogue box that appears tick the "use left/right hand naming convetion" box. Click OK. The polygons now formed should have the label of the line. (not this assumes that the lines form enclosed areas).

Hi. Thank you for the speedy response. I tried the routines you outlined, and I do indeed get formed polygons (with no left over lines) and islands successfully cut out. However, only a few of the new contour polygons have the right elevation, the rest show as -1. I should mention that the contours are contained within a land mass (line), which I have set as the lowest contour.
